TradieOS Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how TradieOS handles information when you use the TradieOS mobile app. TradieOS is a local-first app for invoicing, expenses, BAS/GST summaries, job records, and vehicle logbook records for Australian tradies.
Information You Enter Into the App
Depending on how you use TradieOS, the app may store information such as:
- business profile details, including business name, ABN, contact details, payment details, invoice settings, and vehicle details;
- client details, including names, phone numbers, email addresses, addresses, job sites, and notes;
- invoice, quote, payment, job, and expense records;
- receipt file references and optional photo attachment paths;
- BAS/GST summary inputs and calculated figures;
- vehicle logbook trip records, including trip dates, odometer readings, locations, purposes, distances, business/private use, vehicle details, and optional route points;
- notification settings, backup settings, dashboard preferences, and app setup preferences.
Local Storage
TradieOS stores app data on your device using local storage. This helps the app work without requiring an online account. Anyone with access to your device may be able to access app data, depending on your device security settings.
Location Data
TradieOS can use location data when you choose to use GPS logbook tracking or location autofill. Location data may be used to calculate trip distance, record route points, and fill start/end locations for logbook records.
GPS logbook tracking may continue while the app is in the background if you start live tracking and grant the required location permissions. A persistent notification is shown while live tracking is active.
Location data is stored locally in your trip records and may be included in backups, reports, or exports if you choose to create or share them.
Notifications
TradieOS may schedule local notifications for invoice due dates, overdue invoices, BAS reminders, and logbook reminders. These notifications are generated locally on your device.
Backups, Exports, and Sharing
TradieOS lets you create backups, PDFs, CSV files, BAS/GST summaries, accountant export packs, invoice share messages, and logbook reports. These files may contain business, client, invoice, expense, payment, receipt, vehicle, location, and trip information.
When you choose to share an export, PDF, message, or backup, the data is sent through the sharing service or app you select. TradieOS cannot control how third-party apps handle files after you share them.
Purchases
TradieOS may use Google Play Billing for purchases or unlocks. Purchase processing is handled by Google Play. TradieOS may store purchase or unlock status locally so the app can enable purchased features.
Third-Party Services
TradieOS may interact with third-party services selected by you or provided by your device, such as:
- Google Play Billing for purchases;
- device location services and geocoding services for GPS tracking and address lookup;
- device sharing tools, email apps, messaging apps, file managers, and cloud storage apps when you choose to export or share data;
- maps apps when you choose to open navigation links.
Your use of those third-party services is subject to their own privacy policies.
Data Retention and Deletion
App data remains on your device until you delete it, remove records inside the app, restore/replace data from a backup, clear app storage, or uninstall the app. Backups and exported files remain wherever you save or share them, even if you later delete data from TradieOS.
Security
TradieOS is designed to keep your business records local where possible. You are responsible for securing your device, controlling who can access it, and protecting any backups or exported files you create.
Children's Privacy
TradieOS is intended for business use and is not directed to children.
Changes to This Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated.
